6 Month Appointment

This is just a quick update from the girls six month doctors appointment. Lillian is now 16 lbs and is 26 1/4 inches long. Claire is 16 lb 13 oz and is also 26 1/4 inches long. They both did really well with their immunizations today and hopefully this means this will be the first round that neither of them will run a fever from them. Cross your fingers. For the past 2 months we have also been giving them rice cereal, tonight we tried bananas for the first time and they are very unsure about them. They were so excited when they saw their food bowls, but once the spoon went in their mouth they had a look of dislike on their faces. We will try again tomorrow and see how it goes, it will take some time to get used to the next texture and taste.

The Perfect Day!

Today both Josh and I had the day off work, so we decided to take the girls swimming for the first time. They both LOVE splashing around in the tub and I was hoping the pool would be just as much fun for them; it was! We bought some floaty toys for them play in, but they had more fun swimming around with Josh and I. They both were full of giggles and enjoyed kicking their feet around and slaping the water with their hands. Here are a few pictures from today.

6 Months

I can hardly believe it, but my babies are 6 months old today! They are still the light of my life and can make me smile no matter how tired or grumpy I might be. I definitely think they grew a lot over the past few days and it doesn't seem like they will be slowing down anytime soon. Their 6 month check up is not until next week, so I will be sure to update then with all their new stats. Until then, here are some new pictures.

Ok, for some reason Blogger will not let me upload pictures, so here is a video from tonight and hopefully later I can work on the pictures.

Happy Father's Day

I want to wish a very happy Father's Day to Josh. He is an amazing Dad to Lillian and Claire and a wonderful husband. To prove just how great he is let me share a few examples. On Saturday mornings he is usually always willing to wake up with the girls at 6:30 and get them both all ready so I can sleep, sometimes until 9 or 10. When he is home he washes bottles and makes them for the next day because that is a job that I really do not enjoy. He freely changes dirty (stinky) diapers. He gets the girls to laugh so hard by having them do silly dances and making up crazy songs. He lays down on the floor and plays with the girls. He will wake up at 2 am if the girls decide they are tired of sleeping, even if he has to be to work by 6am. I could go on and on about what makes Josh ad great Dad, but seeing the love in his eyes and the smiles on his face when he holds our baby girls is all the proof you need to know that he is the best out there.

Lillian chillin with her feet on her tray.
Claire happy as can be.

Fight Night

During the month of June Josh has been working the day shift and it has been wonderful having him home in the evenings with us. It is going to be a hard transition back to not having him here every night once July rolls around. I cannot believe how quickly our baby girls are growing up and how animated they are becoming. They are so full of giggles and smiles and it is so wonderful watching them play together. When Lillian and Claire see each other they both light up and become so happy. They smile at each other and still love holding hands and playing with each other. They are both also getting around all over the place and who knows how they are scooting around. One second they are right where I put them, the next they are half way across the room. Here is a little sample of their time together tonight. Lillian in the solid pink and Claire has the dots.

It all starts with a kiss.
Then a little head chomping.
Of course it goes both ways, it is only fair.
Lillian is ready to submit.
Fight is over and Lillian has a head full of slobber from Claire.

You Will Be Missed

Last night, Josh's Grandma passed away. Doris Ward was an amazing woman who I was lucky enough to know for a short 7 years. This pricture was taken on January 28, 2009, the girls were just over a month old and loving some cuddle time with Great Grandma. It makes me sad that they will not have the chance to get to know her. You will be missed!

Today's VCUG Test

This morning we took Lillian to Children's Mercy for her VCUG test. This was to ensure that fluid was not going back into her ureters and kidneys which could have caused her UTI and potential problems in the future. Through the whole procedure she was a very brave little girl and did a great job. Luckily everything looked normal and we have nothing to worry about. Thank you everyone for all of your kind thoughts.

What a fun weekend.

We had a very busy weekend, but it was a fun one. I think I have done more in this weekend alone then I have in the past month! Once I got out of work on Friday, Josh and I took the girls down for Lee's Summit Downtown Days. It is sort of a street festival of sorts. Then on Saturday the girls and I met my friend Shari and her baby girl, Riley, at the mall for some shopping. After we got home and Josh got home from work we headed over to Maggie's to see Jamie, Heather and the girls since they were in town this weekend. We had a great time visiting and seeing how big Dannika and Kaiden are getting. Today while Josh was at work, I packed up the girls and I met up with a few other moms and their little ones for lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. Josh got home shortly after we did and it was a nice relaxing afternoon as a family. Here are a few pictures and a video from this weekend.

Such a Slacker!

Sorry I have been such a slacker lately with my postings, but this past week my evenings have flown by. Both of the girls are doing great with their cereal and soon will be ready to move up to some different foods. Claire is working so hard on sitting up on her own and is getting close. Lillian is trying, but does not really show too much interest in it now; her time will come. Both of them are getting so much better at consistently falling asleep on their own just after their 8 o'clock bed time. We always put them in their cribs by 8 and most mornings they sleep until 6:30 - 7 and it is usually because I have to wake them to get them ready for school.

Here are a few pictures from today.
