Return of the Bumbo

I have been trying to decide lately when I can get rid of or pack away that the girls no longer use. I decided to pull out their Bumbo chairs which they have not sat in for more then 6 months and have only been used to to help block things off. Well, they loved them! They both right away started climbing all over them and plopped down in them. This morning they did the same. I think they love having a place that is just for them to sit, so these will probably sit around the house a little longer until we get them so real chairs of their own.

This picture was from this morning. I was hanging out with Lillian and look over and see Claire happy as can be sitting in her Bumbo, Lillian decided she was done with me and needed her turn.

Hair Bows

I have been trying to teach myself how to make hair bows the past few weeks. I think so far I am doing pretty well. Here are a the ones I have made so far. What do you think?

13 Months

This is a few days late, but on Friday (22nd) Lillian and Claire turned 13 months. They have both been walking for awhile now and are doing great with it! They are starting to pick up the pace, but sometimes their legs just don't move as fast as their top half does and they topple over. Today was their official first day in the toddler room at church. It was sad walking in there and seeing how big some of those little ones are and knowing this is where they now belong, my babies are growing too fast! They seemed to have fun in there, they get a snack at church now, and the teachers said they did great and kept up with the others.

A few other things going on in our house now...
*Lillian is starting to blow kisses and it is the cutest thing.
*Claire gives the best kisses and is even starting, but not always close her mouth when she does this.
*Lillian is all about cuddling. She will cuddle with anyone willing and wants to be held a lot more often, especially when she is getting tired.
*They are both mimicking a lot of the sounds we are making, hopefully they will start saying some words soon.
*We have our own version of the staring game. They will lock eye contact and try their hardest not to smile and then when they are done will give you the best and biggest toothy grin possible.
*Claire's daily goal is to get the rubber bands out of her hair, so her hair is usually a complete mess. Once she gets her bands out she will go after her sisters.

There is so much more going on, it is so hard to think of it all right now and try to say new things that I have not already posted about.

Tonight I was playing with the girls on the floor and they were playing with an empty laundry basket. They had it tipped on the side and both were putting there head in the basket looking up at me through the holes. Looking down at them it struck me once again how amazing these two girls are. I know I am very blessed to have them in my life and I feel that every day, but every once and a while I am just amazing when I see them. There are still times when I see them and find it amazing that I carried TWO babies for 9 months and that these TWO babies are mine! They are my sunshine on all these cloudy days we have had down here.

This is a video from tonight of my two crazy girls while getting ready for bed. This is what happens just about every time they are in their cribs.

New Jammies!

It is official that the girls no longer fit their 9month jammies and it is time to move up. Last weekend we went to Target to search for some new 12 month jammers and that was no easy task. It was almost as if they don't carry clothes in that size at Target when we were shopping. I seriously bought all of the 12 month size that they had for pajamas, and that was not too many. I was excited though when I spotted these adorable princess sets. Check out the models!

Okay, so they have to work on their posing, but there is time :-)

Little Puddin' Cups

Since it was tubby night, I decided after dinner to let the girls split a pudding cup, they of course loved it! I scooped some on each of their high chair trays, gave them a spoon and let them enjoy. We have started giving them spoons while eating their meals since that is the only way they will learn to use it. They mostly just hold on to it, but occasionally they will try to scoop something up and eat from it. Right now it causes a bigger mess, but they are figuring it out.

Shopping Trip

On Sunday, when Josh left for work, I packed the girls up and took a quick trip to Walmart to get a few things. I really did not feel like lugging the stroller in and out of the car, snapping them in and out of it, so I tried something new, I had both girls sharing the seat on the cart. Normally when all 4 of us go to the grocery store we will have two carts and one girly in each, but with it being just me that was not an option. Overall I think they liked it, but they were not happy if their sister started cramping their space.

Sorry for the poor quality picture, it was taken on my phone.

Sisterly Love

Claire and Lillian sure do love each other! I love how happy they make each other and how they will look at each other and smile and start laughing. They are both starting to talk and babble with many new sounds lately. They are mimicking sounds and actions we make and it only makes me more excited to see what will come next for them.

Lillian and Claire (as I have said many times lately) are loving their books. They have always enjoyed books, but lately they will sit there for more then 15 minutes sometimes paging back and forth through their books. I don't know if these is because they have received so many new ones and they are keeping their interest or if it has more to do with them starting to slow down from always being on the go. Don't get me wrong, they are still non-stop, but at least now they will take a break every now and then. They are always so happy when they have each other to play with. They roll around on the floor together, tickle each other (Claire says "tika tika tika" when she does), and love chasing each other down the hall.
My beautiful girl Claire who always has messy hair. As soon as I put piggies or a pony in she has to grab for it and pull it out as best she can.
Claire is showing off her bottom teeth to show everyone what she bites others with. Lillian and Claire enjoy sticking their fingers in each others mouths (or anyone for that matter, doesn't matter who) and laugh so hard. They don't think it is so funny though when one sis bites the others fingers. Eventually they will figure it out.
My sweet girl Lillian with her heart melting smile. Don't mind the food that is still smashed in her hair from dinner. She refused to sit still so I could pick it out right away.
Lillian and Claire are sitting around enjoying their book and the company of each other. This video cracks me up listening to them talk, go smack and pinch fingers but quickly get over it.

We Love Books!

Lillian and Claire received many new books for both Christmas and their birthday over the last several weeks and they love each and every one of them! They have always loved their books, but something about all of these new ones really has their interest. They will sit and look at the pictures and page through them by themselves for a long time, but if you sit there and read them, they will never get up! They do however, have favorites that they will fight for.

Alright, I know it is already a little late in the week, but better late then never. This week is National De-Lurking Week, which means all of you who read my blog but never comment this is your chance to come out and play. You don't have to have a blog and sign up for an account to comment, just click the little comment button down at the bottom of the post and leave a comment as anonymous, of course, I would love it if you would add your name.
If you don't know what to say, tell me how you found my blog, ask me a question and I will answer them all, or just say hi. I know there are many more people who check daily for an update then my usual 3 commenter's and I can't wait to see who you all are! I love sharing my girls, but it would be more fun if I knew who I was sharing it with.

Two little monkeys...

climbing on a chair. Lillian and Claire received the Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Song & Story Chair for Christmas from their Grandma and Grandpa Zullner. They love it, but they think they are little monkeys. They would push each other off the chair to get on, pulled ponies and whatever else they could come up with. Claire loved climbing up on the chair and dancing on it and clapping. Lillian also stood up on it and cheered with a great big smile, but she was content sitting on it backwards watching TV. Oh and neither of them could figure out how to get down from the chair other then jump off or fall off from rocking. They had so much fun!

Packers and Toys

On Sunday the girls helped me cheer on the Packers while watching them play against the Cardinals. The game didn't start so well, the middle was really exciting, but the end left one to be desired. The last couple days both girls have loved being able to play with so many new toys they received for their birthday. I think I might loose my mind with how loud some of them are and that they all seem to play the same songs and sounds over and over again. We have been enjoying many great new books as well.

It's Our Party...

Today we finally had Lillian and Claire's birthday party, it is a few weeks late, but you try having a birthday party the weekend before Christmas. We had many friends and family members there to help us celebrate and as far as I could tell, everyone had a good time. I felt stressed and like it was complete chaos, but that is how I usually feel when hosting an event. We held the girls birthday party at Godfather's Pizza and that was the best idea! I didn't have to do any cleaning or cooking, just show up and throw together a few decorations and call it a day. We had delicious cake made by a co-worker of Josh's and yummy pizza. Thank you again for everyone who was able to attend.

1 Year Well Baby Stats

Today we took Lillian and Claire for their 1 year well baby check up. We trudged through the single digit temps and snow fall, but we made it. Everything went well, they each got 3 shots; MMR, Chicken Pox, and some other one that starts with a P. :-) We discussed Lillian's eczema again and are going to try a continuing the zinc supplement, hydrocortisone and try a probiotic with her. Hopefully this will help her out. Here are their stats:

19lb 1.5oz
30" long
18" head circumference

20lb 8oz
30" long
18.5" head circumference

So I used to think that the girls clapping was the cutest thing ever, but I may have to change my vote. They started waving hello and bye bye last week and I just love it! Tonight I was sitting on the floor with Lillian saying, "Hi,Lillian," in the hopes she might start saying "hi" soon. Instead, she just smiled at me and started to wave. I couldn't get over the cuteness!

Christmas at Grandpa's House

The mid-part of our trip included a stop in De Pere to visit Grandpa and here are a few pictures from our journey there.

Lillian is looking on as others unwrap gifts.
Lillian and Claire really didn't have much interest in unwrapping their own gifts with everything and everyone else around.
Claire and Grandpa chillin' in the snow.
Grandpa pulled Cousin Ray and Claire around the yard on sleds, Lillian had no interest.

Josh and Lillian. As soon as Josh took her outside she was ready to get back in. Apparently she doesn't like the cold and snow.
We couldn't find snow boots for the girls so we just put giant wool socks over their shoes, maybe that is why Lillian didn't want to be outside anymore, because she looked like a gomer. :-)
Playing games.
