This picture is just too cute (so is the story) not to share. I was cooking dinner the other night and while I was doing that, I turned on Yo GabbaGabba for the girls; that usually keeps them occupied long enough to dinner going. Well, when I started the episode they were standing close to the television. I, of course, kept peaking in on them to make sure they were doing alright and they never left that spot. Well, I checked again and they were not where they had been, instead they both sat down on the floor with their balls in their lap like a train. They looked adorable!
These are their new balls that they received as a gift from my friends Jennie and Jeremy. Jennie and Jeremy were passing through town on their way from Minnesota to Lake of the Ozarks here in Missouri, so they stayed Wednesday night with us. Thursday morning, Jeremy ran out to get gas and then ran to Walmart for a few things, he came back with these balls. The girls love them! They are constantly playing with them and thank goodness he bought two otherwise I would have been making a trip to buy a second because they do not want to share and need one of their own. Thanks again guys!
Later on Thursday we went outside to play. We have been going outside every day it has not been raining and luckily we have had much better weather this week then last. Both girls love running all over the yard, running behind the giant pine tree, and going around to all the fences to see what is going on. To add to the excitement I finally put together their picnic table last week and they love it! They especially like being able to sit right next to each other. Lillian has been climbing on top of the table, she will then lay down and say, "nigh nigh" with a big smile on her face. She is so proud.
They are both getting so good at hitting the ball off the tee and will cheer for each other when they take turns. It is so stinkin cute!
Lillian heard the ice cream truck coming down the street and ran over to the fence. She was even dancing to the music. Sadly, the ice cream trucks around here are scary and the drivers are even worse.
Claire was so curious with the bubble machine. She was waiting for them to come out and seemed to be enjoying the fan motor blowing on her while she waited.
Lillian discovered the rose bush in the yard and is enjoying smelling the flowers then pulling them off the plant. She has been poked by the thorns, but it doesn't stop her.
In celebration of Memorial Day, the Riplet Reviews & Giveaways is hosting a blog party full of giveaways. Jamie is the mom of adorable 19 month old triplets and with all of her spare time :-) she has put together not just one wonderful blog, but two wonderful blogs. Her other blog keeps everyone up to date on what is going on with her three busy toddlers, the Riplets.
Jamie is kind enough to help me get my Two Little Birds business going and allow me to be on of her featured giveaways this weekend. For those of you who are unfamiliar, Two Little Birds started out as a fun hobby for me after the girls went to bed. I love having crafty type projects for myself and I have really enjoying teaching myself how to make different hair clips for the girls. Well, once I started showing these clips to family and friends I was getting great feedback and many even suggested I try selling them. The day I stop enjoying making clips is the day I will stop making them, but for now I can't get enough.
I have decided to have a giveaway this weekend on our family blog as well. To pick just a few of my personal favorite clips was way too hard to narrow down, but I tried my best to pick just a few.
I love the simplicity of these basic clips and always have some close by to pop in the girls hair.
I am not a fan of bugs, but if they looked like this in real life I would surround myself with them.
Korkers are fun and cute in any little girls hair, pair them up with pig tails and they are beyond cute!
The perfect clip for your sweetie.
But the best way to be ready for summer is with flowers!
All of the clips you see here and on Etsy can be customized to colors of your choice. There are also many colors and patterns that are not yet featured, so if you are looking for something special send me a message and I will be happy to help. Email Two Little Birds at firstname.lastname@example.org
The winner of this giveaway will win $15 worth of clips of your choice.

I cannot believe Lillian and Claire are already 17 months old, where does the time go? I know, I know, I say this every single month, but I still find it unreal how fast each month goes. Our little monkeys are climbing all over the place, running around the house and have become such hams! They are always making me laugh with their facial expressions, crazy sounds, and just being them. They have also started passing blankets and toys back and forth between cribs. All week long I have been wondering how Lillian has been getting Claire's blanket and Scout in her crib during the night. Finally I realized that they are able to reach each other and pass them. In the mornings Lillian has all the blankets and toys, Claire has an empty crib; such a giver.
Here are some things that are going on with us:
Lillian: *New words includedoggie and milk. Hearing her say doggie is just about the cutest thing ever! *Sings all the time. *She is very attached to her milk sippy. We have had to start waiting until she is finished eating her meals before she can have her milk. As soon as she gets her cup she does not put it down. If we try taking it away to have her finish eating she throws a fit.
Claire: *New words include night night and her own version of Leia. *Dances all the time. *She is finally letting me put bows in her hair and not ripping the out right away.
I took the girls outside to get some pictures of them after them not at all cooperating inside. They had little interest in sitting on the steps when there were flowers and dirt.
I may have been able to get them to sit, but I was not able to get them both to look at me.
Sitting didn't last long.
This is what happens when I try to take pictures inside. They run away as soon as I get them to sit down.
After waking up from a nap Claire was just hanging out chatting with Sis.
Lillian once again flipped her shirt over her head while she was supposed to be napping.
Today we were reintroduced to the sun and warm weather, oh what a beautiful day! Since it has been almost 2 weeks since the last time we were able to play outside, I thought it would be a special treat to play with the water table. After Josh left for work this afternoon I took the girls on the deck and we played. Okay, I confess, this was partly for my own benefit because I was tired of them climbing all over the couch and the tables. Claire thought it was fun to throw all of the table toys through the fence posts, so that was done. Lillian thought it would work perfectly to play with the bat in the water, obviously that is where it belongs. They were so happy being outside again and enjoying fresh air. Let's just hope that the rain stays away for a bit so we continue to enjoy being outdoors.
Now you decide, is this a water table or a pool?
I think it is time to dig the pool out and let them climb in there.
After we gave good night kisses and hugs, I came into the living room to check my email, facebook and my message board like every other night. Except tonight was very different. I came online and found out that my friend and a fellow mom of multiples, Tiffany, lost her adorable son, JW, this evening. JW had a smile that was infectious and always brought happiness to my heart. He was not a twin, but the little brother of two beautiful girls, Georgia and Dakota. JW was born at just 27 weeks and has defied many odds over the last 20 months as well as touched many hearts. Please pray for Tiffany, Jake, Georgia and Dakota.
The newest skill learned in our house is how to climb on the couch and chair. This is a skill that Josh and I are not very excited about. Climbing means trouble, trouble means things getting pulled off tables or babies about to fall over the edge of furniture. It wouldn't be so bad if they climbed on the couch and sat down, but they insist on jumping and running the length of the couch. Both girls can climb without any trouble on the couch, but Lillian has trouble getting on the chair, where as Claire can now almost running leap up there. They have such a look of pride once they get on the furniture, I think it is mostly because they know we do not want them up there without us next to them, especially on the couch. We are very lucky though that they no longer try to walk off the furniture, but leaning over the side is still an issue we are working on.
Here is a nice play by play of Claire.
Claire is on the couch and Lillian is following behind. Lillian seems to have less interest with the climbing, but if Claire is up then she wants to be as well.
This evening when I took Lillian and Claire back to their room to change their diapers and clothes they found some super soft fleece blankets that Grandma Sandy made for them when they were first born. They decided it was necessary to drag these blankets out of their room and into the living room. While doing this they must have thought they were so sneaky and clever since they were full of giggles and chatter. Next thing I know, Claire is dragging both of the blankets over to the front door saying, "nigh, nigh." I get up to see both girls getting cozy on the pile of blankets. They were beyond adorable rolling around on the blankets and cuddling with each other.
Side note: That yellow giraffe was from our zoo trip while in Wisconsin several weeks ago. That thing was a big hit tonight and there were several meltdowns that resulted from there only being one.
