Our First Tooth!

Josh and I went away this weekend to Minnesota for a friends wedding (congrats Jennie and Jeremy) and Lillian and Claire stayed home with Grandma Jessie. When we got home we discovered Claire popped her first tooth! This is the first one in the house and we are so excited! The little tooth is coming through front and center down on the bottom. Hopefully tomorrow she will let me try to get a picture, but just seeing it was difficult enough.

Grandpa Mark's Visit

My Dad came down Monday evening and sadly has to head back to Wisconsin tomorrow morning. He spent the last few afternoons with Lillian and Claire while both Josh and I had to work. The girls loved the Grandpa cuddles and I am pretty sure Grandpa loved them as well. Here are a few pictures that were taken.

Good News

Today we received all of the results for both Lillian and Claire and everything came back perfectly. There is no internal problems with Claire which could have caused her UTI and Lillian does not have Whooping Cough! Yeah!!

Oh the Craziness!

I really need to get better at posting updates again. Life has just become so crazy lately that I really have not had much time to take pictures and time to update, so here it goes.

Claire two weeks ago came down with a Urinary Tract Infection. Luckily she was not nearly as miserable as Lillian was when she had one several months back. We were able to get her on an antibiotic pretty quickly and she was feeling great. Yesterday Claire had her VCUG and Renal Sonogram at Children's Mercy; everything looked great.

Lillian has had this horrible cough for just about two weeks now as well. When we called the pediatrician last week he told us to try Benedryl because at the time it sounded like possible allergies. After a week of that not working very well and the problem continued we took her for a doctor visit yesterday. He thinks it might be Whooping Cough so I had to take Lillian to Children's Mercy yesterday as well (Josh and Claire were still there) to test for that. We are treating both girls with an antibiotic for Whooping Cough just in case. If it turns out that is what it is, Josh and I will also have to be treated. No fun!

On a lighter note, we took the girls on their first trip over to the St. Louis area for their cousin Dannika's first birthday. We had a great time and it was wonderful being able to see everyone again.

I still have not had a chance to take Lillian and Claire's 8 month pictures, I am a bad Mom, oh well. I am really hoping to get those done tomorrow so I can update those.

Saturday Naps

Josh and I put the girls down for their mornings naps close to 8:30 this morning and they layed down quietly. I went into the living room and Josh went downstairs for a bit. After about 10 minutes I hear some chatter coming from their room. When I walked to their door this is what I saw:

I pushed the door open a little bit further and then saw this: (side note: Claire's crib is so far down because she was the first one to pull into a standing position so Josh lowered her crib... a bit too far. They will both be reset this weekend)
Lillian is full of chatter and not wanting to nap, but after Josh setting up the Pack n' Play in their room she went right to sleep. The sides are still a little too high for her to pull herself up yet.
Claire was not so easy. I had to go back in a few times and lay her back down before she finally fell asleep.

Check Out Our Duck!

Since Lillian and Claire are sitting up all on their own they not longer enjoy the slightly reclining seat in their infant tub, so we moved on to the big ol' duck from Auntie Holly. If you squeeze the beak it quacks and the girls love it! This was their first time taking a bath in the duck and I think they were much happier being able to sit up fully and have more water to splash in.

Bath Fun and More!

On Saturday after a day of shopping we came how and the girls went "swimming" in the tub. It was the first time they have both been in the tub together, so Josh and I filled it with toys and just let them play. They could really have cared less that they were in their together, but they seemed to have a blast with all the splashing and kicking that was going on.

Here are a few other pictures of them playing today. We have been using the Pack n' Plays as barriers to keep them from getting all around the house, but they have been loving pulling up on their knees and hitting them. Lillian is crazy about the zippers.

Last night after putting Lillian and Claire to bed for the night, Claire was continuing to fuss. Usually I let them be and they will fall asleep pretty quickly, however last night she did not sound the same, so I felt the need to go check on her. Sure enough I peak through their door and Claire has pulled herself up into a standing position in her crib. She was fussing because she got stuck and couldn't figure out how to get down. Right after I put her down, I realized I should have ran to get the camera first, but I was too afraid she would flip herself over the side. Today Josh had the job of lower the mattress and it was a job well done. Hopefully she will pull up again soon so I can take some pictures.

What a Crazy Busy Week

Sorry it has been a week since my last post, this has just been a crazy week, but here is a glimpse of it in pictures!

To sum it all up, they had lots of play time to practice their crawling and they are getting fast and busy! They are getting really good at holding their own bottles and this will be a huge helper for me once they really get it. Justin, Jessica and Levi came for a visit on Wednesday and Thursday night and we had a great time. We took the kiddos to Paradise Park and the girls loved making a mess of all the toys and exploring all the rooms they had. Can't wait to go back. They have also pretty much mastered sitting up on their own and will sit there unassisted for a long time before they get bored of it and roll themselves down to play and crawl. Oh and most importantly, they have started to babble ma-ma and da-da. Claire tends to say da-da more and Lillian likes to say ma-ma. Is it still a first word if we are not totally sure they know exactly what they are saying?
